Our Career Enhancement Program will prepare you with the
computer skills necessary to get ahead in today's world of technology. ALL
business positions from entry level clerical to upper management require good computer skills.
Employers can and will be selective.
Program Outline
- Introduction to
Computers & Microsoft Windows
Introduce student to concepts concerning computer hardware,
software, media, and Windows.
- Keyboarding Skills
Students learn about how to use keyboard effectively and at speeds necessary
for the work environmnet.
- File
Management, Run Programs, Save Work
Teach students basic file management, starting programs, enter and edit text,
save documents and using toolbars.
- Advanced File Management
& Application Setup
Review computer path concept and learn how to use "My Computer"
and "Windows Explorer" to view, create and access folders and
documents.
- Windows Intermediate Topics
Learning about and how to manage Control Panel settings, object linking and
embedding, disk and file tasks.
- Intro to Internet, World
Wide Web & E-Mail
Review background and structure of the Internet, exploring and browsing the
Web, sending and receiving e-mail.
- Internet, Web
Searching, Advanced E-Mail
Gain working knowledge of Internet capabilities including search engines and
browser topics; learn advanced e-mail.
- Microsoft Word
Introduction
Review Microsoft Word basics
including creating and editing documents, templates, using spell check,
Help, and more.
- Microsoft Word
Intermediate
Using the advanced features of Word in creating most any document
commonly used in an office environment including mail merge, graphics and
more.
- Microsoft Excel
Introduction
Learn spreadsheet concepts and practical applications for creating and
using spreadsheets.

Intermediate
Advanced Excel applications, using and moving data and information in
spreadsheets and using data to create tables and graphs.

PowerPoint
Review sample presentations and how presentations are used in
business, creating presentations and slide shows

Microsoft Access
Learn database concepts, navigating the database, entering and editing
information.

Office Application Integration
Setup Microsoft Office Toolbar and learn how to share data between other
Windows and MS Office applications.
