What sets CLC apart from other schools that offer similar certification programs?
When shopping for career training there are several very important items you should always look for in choosing a school.
- The school should hold a State license from the Florida State Board of Postsecondary Education.
- The school should be certified by either CompTIA or Microsoft Corporation. In the case of Microsoft, there are different levels of certification for a school. The first level is Microsoft Certified Partner.
- When comparing hours within a program, make sure the hours listed are instructor led. Some schools count the hours the student studies at home as part of their curriculum.
- The instructors should always be certified in the programs that they are teaching. Additionally, they should be Certified Trainers, this means the instructor has had "Train-the-Trainer" instruction on how to present the material within the program. Some schools use instructors that are certified in their particular program but have not received professional instruction on how to teach the material.
- Class size is an important consideration. Microsoft recommends that classes have no more than 12 students, our class maximum is only 9. With 1 instructor for 9 students, each student receives a great deal of individual attention.
CLC meets ALL of the above criteria

I called other schools looking for A+ Certification. Some schools offer the program for anywhere from 40 to 200 hrs. CLC has programs for 40 hrs & 72 hours. What's the difference?
The 40 hour program is designed as a total immersion learning experience and is perfect for individuals that are already in the industry or, are good computer users. The total immersion experience provides the student with the information that is necessary to pass the exam. The student will actually take several practice exams during the week and then the finals at the end of each section.
For the 72 hr program the student will be coming to class only 12 hours a week, which allows the student to keep their current job. It also allows more time for the student to study while completing the program. and allows for more review time. This program is ideal for those individuals that have limited knowledge of computers.

Why do I need Network+ Certification before MCSE?
When a student embarks on the MCSE training program, Microsoft has designed the various modules with the assumption that the student already has basic networking knowledge and skills. Network+ is an excellent prerequisite to MCSE because it gives the student basic networking knowledge, allows hands-on network setup and introduces the student to several different types of networks.

Transcender is a software program which emulates Microsoft technical examinations. The software can be used either in practice test mode or study mode and is an excellent indicator as to whether or not the student is ready to be tested. Transcender if purchased by an individual cost $900 for the MCSE track. Because we are a Transcender Training Partner, students can purchase Transcender for the MCSE track for only $525 through the school. This is a 42% discount. Transcender is also available for A+, Network+, etc.,

Why do I need Transcender? Does it really help?
Transcender Examination Preparation Software is without equal in the exam prep software industry. When a student takes a practice exam, Transcender grades the response immediately and also tells the student why one answer is wrong and why another answer is correct. Industry research shows that students who use Transcender as part of their preparation for their technical examinations have a 60% higher passing ratio.

I am not good at Math, is that a problem?
Basic Math skills are required for a successful completion of the MCSE program. However, anyone that has successfully completed basic Math courses in high school should have no problem.

Unlike other schools, CLC strongly recommends that students take their examinations immediately following completion of each module. The information is fresh and top of mind and students experience much higher passing ratios if the examination is taken immediately following completion of any given module.

The Information Technology industry has very little age or sex discrimination. The certifications you hold are the determining factor as to whether or not employers will consider you for positions.

What's the guarantee that I will get a job after I earn my certifications?
It is against the law for any school to guarantee job placement as an enticement to take a course. The Information Technology Association of America (ITAA) estimates that companies in this country will need roughly 1.6 million IT workers this year. With demand for appropriately skilled people far exceeding supply, half of these positions (843,328) will likely go unfilled, according to the ITAA, which estimates the total US. IT workforce at 10 million. That means one job in every dozen will be vacant.
In the final analysis, your employment success will depend on you. We can train you, assist you with résumé preparation and job search. The jobs are out there, securing a position is ultimately your responsibility.
